Wide Ring In Kish Island

DESCRIPTION

Employer: Kish Development & Urban Services Co.
place: Kish

Kish Island’s green ring is a 45-kilometer main road. It has a width of 75 meters and 11-meter lanes, high-speed and low-speed lanes, as well as pedestrian and bicycle lanes and green sidelines which are in harmony with the island’s shape. This ring is designed regarding the different land functionalities of the island.

The high-speed lane has a speed limit of 90 km/h and is intersected by 10 large squares with the capacity of 5 lanes and the speed limit of 60 km/h and through these squares the road has access to the internal ways of the island. This road provides access to north, south, east and west of the island in short distance and time.

By building this road the middle parts of the island which mostly belong to airport grounds are separated from the outer parts of the island which are mostly tourist and recreational areas. The completion of pedestrian and bicycle lanes along green sidelines will add to the island’s tourist attraction.

This is one of the biggest solar lighting projects in Iran in which the photovoltaic system is deployed to provide 1 megawatt power to illuminate a four-lane highway 75m wide and 24km long.
