Interior Design of New International Passenger Terminal in Kish Island

DESCRIPTION

Employer: Kish Free Zone Organization
place: Kish

The key points, objectives, and anticipations previously considered in the architecture design of the new passenger terminal of Kish Island International Airport are now taken as the main elements throughout its interior design. The fundamental idea of the project is to take notice of the passengers’ circulation patterns to create easy circulation throughout the space for a calm, relaxed and unruffled experience. Therefore, the idea of transparency is applied as a main concept so that the passenger circulation (halls and corridors) is visible. The project is located in the beautiful Kish Island which is a tourist hub and the design takes inspiration from natural elements in its utilization of color and forms. Vernacular architecture, local colors, and the geometry derived from island elements such as vegetation, economy and nature have been used in all aspects of the passenger circulation. To meet the basic patterns in all areas, horizontal continuous lines are used to add a sense of depth to otherwise flat surfaces and create an air of comfort and peace from the beautiful coral reefs of the island. In addition, the use of up-to-date technology and modern materials is palpable.
