IKIA restaurant building is an adjunct to the main terminal designed due to the lack of space inside the terminal to serve passengers. It is located southwest of the terminal and south of the piers at a built-up area of 1600 square meters indoor space and 800 square meters semi-open space to serve 300 passengers and 40 airport staff.
The restaurant light volume is located on cube-shaped kitchen. A roofed terrace creates a pleasant atmosphere for travelers in mild seasons and provides a good view to the runway and the area surrounding the airport. The terrace roof and the eastern and western walls protect the space against wind and rain.
In the heart of the building, there are stairs, elevators and facilities ducts allowing physical connection of the three stories. A stone cube-shaped shell provides the integrity of the whole building. It also works as the roof of the first floor terrace, forms the structure of the building, functions as a shade for east- and west-facing windows and blocks the annoying direct glare of the sun.
