In regards to the fact that Anzali Port is one of the main centers of soccer in the north of the country and the province’s soccer teams are usually present in the Iranian League, and also due to the vast interest in the sport and the centralization policy, the presence of a stadium with the capacity of holding important games with a high standard was inevitable. With an effort from the authorities and cooperation from Natural Preservation Organization, the construction location was chosen in the south of Anzali and in the north of Anzali’s lagoon. The idea of the design was derived from the lotus which is found in this lagoon and after opening the stadium has the capacity for 15000 people. The grass field has the ability to absorb water and keep the quality of the grass in rainfalls.
